[crédito de la foto: Linda Åkerberg] Para celebrar 40 años de maestría en el doom metal y el lanzamiento de su nuevo EP de cuatro canciones, Black Star, los pioneros suecos del doom metal épico CANDLEMASS han presentado una versión del legendario himno de Black Sabbath, «Sabbath Bloody Sabbath». Originalmente extraído del clásico de Sabbath de 1973, CANDLEMASS presenta su propia versión junto con un video musical oficial. Con una intensidad solemne y una presencia imponente, CANDLEMASS transforma la canción en una marcha fúnebre digna del panteón más alto del doom. Un homenaje majestuoso que honra el pasado mientras sacude las paredes de la cripta del presente. Leif Edling, el genio de CANDLEMASS, comenta: «Sabbath Bloody Sabbath» no necesita presentación; es una de las mejores canciones jamás grabadas, si me preguntas. Quizás no sea la opción más obvia, pero siempre ha sido un sueño para mí hacerla algún día, ¡y aquí está! Nuestra versión de S.B.S. (¿Mass Bloody Mass?)
Los padrinos suecos del doom épico, CANDLEMASS, presentan su EP de cuatro temas, Black Star. Repleto de riffs cavernosos, la banda, que desafía el género, presenta dos canciones completamente nuevas junto con dos versiones de clásicos atemporales.
Tras el tema principal, la segunda canción original, «Corridors Of Chaos», presenta un auténtico instrumental de la vieja escuela que combina riffs de metal clásico con una impresionante interpretación de guitarra de Lars Johansson, demostrando la maestría de la banda en la dinámica. Para completar este homenaje, CANDLEMASS ofrece su versión del clásico de Pentagram, «Forever My Queen», consolidando aún más la notable contribución de la banda a la transformación del género en lo que es hoy.

To celebrate 40 years of doom metal mastery and the release of their brand new four track EP, Black Star, Swedish epic doom metal pioneers CANDLEMASS have unveiled a cover of Black Sabbath’s legendary hymn “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath”. Originally cut from the classic 1973 Sabbath album, CANDLEMASS present their own version alongside an official music video.
With solemn intensity and seismic presence, CANDLEMASS transform the track into a funeral march worthy of doom’s highest pantheon. A majestic tribute that honors the past while shaking the crypt walls of the present.

Swedish godfathers of epic doom CANDLEMASS present their four-track EP, Black Star. Packed with cavernous riffs, the genre-defying band unveils two brand-new songs alongside two cover versions of timeless classics.
Following the title track, the second original song, “Corridors Of Chaos”, marks a true old school instrumental containing both classic metal riffing and stunning guitar playing by Lars Johansson, showcasing the band’s mastery of dynamics.
